Finding housing in Sweden can be challenging depending on the desired area. You will find commercial rental buildings and privately-owned apartments to rent. Most rentals are unfurnished; however, privately-owned landlords tend to rent apartments partially or fully furnished. Whether you buy or rent accommodation, you will find a stove, oven, fridge and freezer in the apartment or house. Apartments normally offer laundry facilities that can be booked in advance. Sometimes there may be a washer and dryer in the apartment as an option.
Whether you rent a house or an apartment, we recommend that you document the condition by taking plenty of pictures and doing an inspection with the landlord if possible. We also advise you to take out a home insurance policy.
