In Swedish schools, children with at least one parent who has a mother tongue other than Swedish and speaks this language at home, have the right to mother tongue lessons. Every school does not have a teacher of every language; instead each municipality employs language teachers to cover the demand on a part time basis. These teachers are then sent out to the schools where they are needed. This pool of language teachers is constantly changing as people move in and out of the city, which means that they are often looking for new people to employ as mother tongue teachers.
Come listen to Lund municipality tell what is required to be a mother tongue teacher and which languages are in demand at the moment and in the future. It’s a good way to build your network in this area.
