25 January 2017 – What Are My Rights in Sweden?

Be aware of unexpected rules regarding your private life as well as your work, studies or other aspects of your stay in a new country. All kinds of questions might affect you regarding matters of marriage, divorce, custody and inheritance as well as matters of labor law and residence. It is important to assess in which country’s law is best applicable for settling the matter. This calls for complicated assessments which should be looked at by an expert. In this lecture Tove Sjövall will introduce the basics of Swedish International law and provide vivid examples on the application of law in international circumstances.

Tove Sjövall is an Attorney at Law and partner at Wesslau Söderqvist Advokatbyrå, a law firm with offices in Malmö, Helsingborg, Växjö, Borås, Jönköping and Stockholm. She has years of experience in both international and cross border matters. Earlier she lived in Brussels and worked there representing both a Swedish law firm and a local Belgian law firm. Tove Sjövall graduated with a law degree at the University of Lund and is a member of the Swedish Bar Association.
