18 August, 2016 – Finding Your Way through the Swedish Health Care Maze

Alexander Dozet, Monica Larsson and Pia Landgren from Region Skåne will inform us on how the health care system works.

Health care in Sweden is based on the idea that everyone, regardless of one’s background, should get the same high quality health care according to one’s need. Region Skåne is the County Council and one of their main responsibilities is to manage the health care in Skåne. They strive to achieve good, equal physical and social health for all Citizens.

They will speak about how you can benefit from the health care system and where to turn to in case of mental or physical illness, presenting health facilities such as local care centers, hospitals and specialist care centers located around Skåne. They will also touch upon the economic aspect of seeking health care and what rights you have as an expat and what you can expect when being in contact with health care facilities.
